Membership Benefits: AMESVI is an organization of vision professionals- Teachers of Students with Visual Impairments (TVI), Certified Orientation and Mobility Specialists (COMS), Vision Rehabilitation Therapists (VRT), Low Vision Therapists (CLVT), administrative personnel of programs addressing the needs of students with visual impairments, university personnel preparing vision professionals, and students in vision training programs. Membership in AMESVI provides access to a private listserve of approximately 160 vision professionals teaching or living in Massachusetts or surrounding states, reduced rates for AMESVI professional development and training programs, networking opportunities with other vision professionals within the organization, opportunities and support for advocacy within and without the organization, special programs such as a magnifier trial program. You are eligible for membership in AMESVI if you are: a current or retired teacher, or a student preparing to become a TVI, COMS, CLVT, VRT; an administrator in a program that addresses the needs of students with visual impairments; a certified teacher of the Deafblind/Multi-handicapped; a paraprofessional serving students with visual impairment; a professional in a related field serving students with visual impairment.
